How to Set BIOS to Boot from CD/DVD or USB Drive?


While you are reset the lost or forgot Windows password with Windows Password Reset, during the password recovery process, you will be asked to reset password by the CD/CVD reset disk or USB drive. However, chances are that your locked computer failed to boot from it after inserting the CD/DVD or USB drive into it, if so, you will have to set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD or USB drive to keep on the password recovery process.
Please follow the below steps if you want to reset Windows password by Set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD or USB drive.

Enter into BIOS Setup

After the computer start booting, usually press F2Delete or F10 to enter into BIOS Setup.

In the BIOS Setup Utility

After pressing the correct key or keys combination, you are in the BIOS Setup Utility now.
Although BIOS utilities appears different from each other, they are all comes as a set of menus which combined with different settings for your computer's hardware. And in this certain BIOS, the middle is the hardware options, the bottom is the instructions on how to move around the BIOS and make changes.

Part 1: Boot Order Options in BIOS from CD/DVD

1. Hard drive, floppy drive, and optical drive will be listed on this screen, and the listed order of them is the boot order of your computer. However, the boot order can be changed by the + and - keys.
Choose Hard Drive if you want to set BIOS boot from USB drive or choose CD-ROM Drive to set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD.
2: Change the Boot Order
You can change the boot order as you like at this step. Here we choose CD-ROM Drive for example to set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD.
3: Save the previous changes to the BIOS setup utility
Save the previous BIOS changes to make it take effects by locate and choose the Exit Saving Changes (or similarly worded) option.
4: Confirm the previous changes and exit BIOS
Select Yes to save your BIOS configuration changes and exit.
5: Start your PC with the new Boot Order
Now that you have set BIOS to boot from CD/DVD while using Windows Password Reset and the password recovery process will went on smoothly then to finish the entire procedure, just enjoy your free net surfing then once the password is reset successfully.

2: Change the Boot Order
You can change the boot order as you like at this step. Here we choose Hard Drive first and then choose USB Flash Disk to set BIOS to boot from USB drive.
3: Save the previous changes to the BIOS setup utility
Save the previous BIOS changes to make it take effects by locate and choose the Exit Saving Changes (or similarly worded) option.
4: Confirm the previous changes and exit BIOS
Select Yes to save your BIOS configuration changes and exit.
5: Start your PC from USB drive
Now that you have set BIOS to boot from USB drive while using Windows Password Reset and the password recovery process will went on smoothly then to finish the entire procedure, just enjoy your free net surfing then once the password is reset successfully.
